Example: $10B pre-money · $10/share IPO price target · 2× post-IPO multiple · 20% round-to-IPO dilution · 45 / 10 / 45 cohort split

Cohort Pre-IPO % Pre-IPO $ At-IPO % At-IPO $ Post-IPO +12mo % Post-IPO +12mo $ Multiple
Founder 45.00% $4.50B 37.50% $4.09B 37.50% $8.18B
Employee pool 10.00% $1.00B 8.33% $0.91B 8.33% $1.82B
Pre-IPO investor 45.00% $4.50B 37.50% $4.09B 37.50% $8.18B
Implied valuation $10.00B $10.00B pre-money $10.91B at-IPO $20.00B post-IPO +12mo

Implied post-IPO valuation ≈ $20.00B · multiple = · round-to-IPO dilution ≈ 20.00% · cohort split 45/10/45. The at-IPO frame is where the round-to-IPO dilution event lands on the cap table; the +12mo frame is where the valuation multiple you choose drives the dollar repricing.

Toggle the multiple between 1×, 2×, and 3× to see how each cohort's &$ stake re-prices over a year of public trading — and compare the founder block against the pre-IPO investor block to see who carries more weight at the listing.

How the IPO Valuation Scenarioer works

What is the post-IPO multiple?
The post-IPO multiple is the factor by which the implied company valuation has grown from pre-money to +12 months after the listing. 1× means the company trades flat to the pre-money valuation; 2× means it has doubled; 3× means it has tripled. The Scenarioer lets you toggle between 1×, 2×, and 3× to see how each cohort's implied dollar stake re-prices at every alternative.
What does round-to-IPO dilution % mean?
Round-to-IPO dilution is the percentage of new shares issued between the last private round and the listing day. It captures the cumulative effect of crossover, secondary tender, and IPO offering share issuance on the existing cap table. Entering 20% means every pre-IPO cohort's % retained falls by a factor of 1/1.20 — a 45% founder block becomes 37.50% post-money, for example.
Why does % retained stay flat across pre-IPO → at IPO → post-IPO +12mo?
% retained is a function of cap-table share count, not valuation. Once the IPO float is issued at listing day, every cohort's % is locked in and only moves with future secondary events. The Scenarioer holds % flat from at-IPO through the +12mo frame so you can see the dollar impact of valuation multiple moves in isolation, without conflating them with share-count drift.
How is the implied valuation readout calculated?
The pre-IPO valuation is the value you enter. The at-IPO valuation reflects the post-money value after the round-to-IPO dilution event. The post-IPO +12mo valuation = pre-money × chosen multiple (1×, 2×, or 3×). The Scenarioer renders each cohort's per-frame dollar stake as cohort % × frame valuation, and prints the implied company valuation at each frame as the summary readout.
Why is this gated to the $99/mo Intelligence Stack?
This is the third IPO Simulation Agent shipping inside the Intelligence Stack ($99/mo, cancel anytime). Everything on this page stays public — title, intro, sample output, FAQ, JSON-LD — so it can rank organically for “IPO valuation scenario” / “pre-IPO valuation.” Only the interactive Scenarioer is gated.
