Corgi Insurance
Public
Corgi Insurance is the first AI-native, full-stack insurance carrier built specifically for startups and technology companies. Founded in 2024 by Nico Laqua (CEO) and Emily Yuan in San Francisco, Corgi received full regulatory carrier approval in July 2025 — enabling it to underwrite and issue policies directly without broker intermediaries. It is a licensed insurance carrier, not an MGA (managing general agent), a landmark achievement in insurtech. Its product suite covers Directors & Officers (D&O), Errors & Omissions (E&O), Cyber Insurance, Employment Practices Liability (EPLI), Commercial General Liability, and AI Liability — delivered via instant quoting and digital-first policy management built for founders. By December 2025, Corgi had over 40,000 active startup customers across 49 U.S. states with annual recurring revenue exceeding $40M. On January 9, 2026, the company emerged from stealth with $108M in total funding at a $630M valuation, co-led by Y Combinator, Kindred Ventures, Oliver Jung, Leblon Capital, Contrary, and Glade Brook Capital Partners. Other investors include SV Angel, Seven Stars, Alumni Ventures, Quadri Ventures, Phosphor Capital, and Fellows Fund. Corgi has 100 employees and is scaling into new coverage lines and geographies. CEO Nico Laqua: Startups move fast, and so should their insurance.
