Rhoda AI is a Palo Alto-based robotics intelligence startup building foundation models for physical AI — robots that can operate in real-world, unpredictable industrial environments without needing thousands of hours of task-specific teleoperation data. Founded in 2024 by serial deep-tech entrepreneur Jagdeep Singh (formerly founder/CEO of QuantumScape and Infinera, acquired by Nokia for $2.3B), Stanford professor Gordon Wetzstein, and Chief Science Officer Eric Ryan Chan (ex-WorldLabs generative model architect), Rhoda operated in stealth for 18 months. The platform, FutureVision, is built on Direct Video-Action (DVA) — a video-predictive control architecture pre-trained on hundreds of millions of internet videos to build a world model of physics, motion, and physical interaction. DVA requires as little as 10 hours of teleoperation data to learn complex new tasks. In April 2025, Rhoda raised a $162.6M Series A at ~$1B valuation. In March 2026, the company emerged from stealth and raised a $450M Series B led by Premji Invest at a $1.7B valuation, with participation from Capricorn Investment Group, Khosla Ventures, Leitmotif, Mayfield, Prelude Ventures, Temasek, and Xora. Total funding ~$680M. Rhoda plans to license FutureVision as a software platform to industrial customers while developing its own humanoid hardware. The system has been tested in high-volume manufacturing, completing component workflows in under two minutes per cycle without human intervention.
