Rivian is an electric vehicle company focused on adventure vehicles and commercial delivery. Its R1T electric pickup truck and R1S SUV target outdoor enthusiasts, while the EDV delivery van is built exclusively for Amazon, which also invested $700M in Rivian. The company went public in November 2021 in the largest US IPO since Facebook, raising $12B. Rivian operates its Normal, Illinois assembly plant and has partnered with Volkswagen on an EV software joint venture.
